RIBOKI
In its third year, the TIBM Boat Building Program was focused on teaching youth marine skills, including basic wood construction skills and outboard motor repair. During the 2015-2016 school year, 45 students in the local high school’s Grade 7 class visited the Museum every Thursday. Half the day was spent restoring a 1956 runabout built by local boatbuilder Bob Gerrard (linked to boatbuilder collections page) and the rest of the time students learned boating safety to prepare for writing the Boater’s exam in Spring 2016.The finished restoration project, renamed Riboki by the students (River, Boat, Kids) was launched Spring 2016 and commemorated the opening of the Boat Museum docks. Visit the Boat Museum and find Riboki floating in the Boathouse!
